Call for papers

The 10th International Ioannina Meeting on Applied Economics and Finance (IMAEF 2026) aims at offering a forum for exchanging ideas in the application of theory to contemporary issues in economics and finance. The meeting brings together academics and practitioners from different countries and environments sharing research interests in applied economics and finance.
Contributions with both a theoretical and empirical focus are welcome.

IMAEF 2026 is organized by the Department of Economics of the University of Ioannina and will take place in Syros.

Special Issue Announcement
We are delighted to announce that selected papers presented at IMAEF 2026 will be considered for publication in a Special Issue of the European Economic Review.

Submission Details

Extended abstracts should be submitted to the conference secretariat (imaef@uoi.gr) by January 15, 2026 in a .doc /.docx format. Abstracts should include name, affiliation, keywords, JEL classification codes and a 400-500 words text including purpose, methodology, findings and implications. They will be peer-reviewed for adherence to the meeting scope and quality. Accepted contributions will be published in an ISBN numbered Proceedings CD-ROM (IMAEF proceedings are indexed in EBSCO).

 

Special Issue Announcement

Selected papers presented at the conference on macroeconomic and macro finance issues will be considered for a special issue of the European Economic Review (EER) entitled: “Finance, Policy, and Growth: Navigating Economic Challenges”. Authors should submit at imaef@uoi.gr a complete paper in pdf format and should indicate that they wish their paper to be considered for the special issue. The special issue will be edited by Evi Pappa, Steven Ongena and Giovanni Ricco. Papers will be refereed according to usual EER standards. Authors are strongly encouraged to present papers that are already relatively complete and polished as the turnaround will be quick.

If the papers are selected for the special issue, the deadline for the papers submission to the EER for the special issue will be July 15th 2026.

 

The working language of the meeting is English.
